Pneumatic peelers are used to remove the outer skin of the kernel. The kernels are loaded onto a cylinder, and high pressure is pumped IN through multiple fine nozzles to separate the skin from the kernels.
The peeled skin of the cashew kernel, also known as the husk, is collected separately for further disposal.
After peeling, the Kernels are passed through a drum calibrator called a super calibrator to separate whole kernels and pieces.
